Story facts
Your writing, kept local
Keep separate story projects for separate worlds. Continuity Forge is not an AI tool, shared workspace, community, or account service.
Your projects are stored in this browser on this device. Continuity Forge has no accounts, sharing, AI, or network saving. Browser storage can be cleared, so export a backup you keep somewhere safe.
Use New project for a separate story world, then choose it from the Project menu. Add a fact for a character, place, event, object, rule, or another detail; edit it whenever your draft changes.
Add comma-separated tags to group facts. Put a tag containing a comma in double quotes, such as "red, blue". Use Link fact to record how two facts relate. Use the relationship filter under Connected facts to focus on one type of connection. Search, type, tag, open-question, and unlinked filters help narrow the library; clear filters to see everything again.
Export downloads the current project as a JSON backup. Import checks a JSON backup and adds it as a separate local project. Backups and new saves are limited to 80 MiB, with a little space reserved for a new project ID when imported. Older larger projects can still be opened and exported in full, but must be reduced before saving or importing. If a project cannot load, the recovery screen can retry, download its preserved record, or restore its last valid revision when one exists.
